Your family's data, handled with care

This policy explains what Skoobon collects, how it is used, and how you stay in control. It applies to the Skoobon app and the Skoobon website.

What we collect

Skoobon collects the information needed to teach your child well: an account name, your email address, your child's learning progress across each math skill, and images of handwritten work that your child submits for evaluation.

Progress data and handwriting images are used by our evaluation systems to understand how your child is thinking, identify learning gaps, and choose the right next step.

When a parent sends an enquiry, we collect the parent's name, phone number and email, the student's class and syllabus, and whether the student already receives math tutoring. We use these details to contact the parent about Skoobon and suitable learning options.

How your child's work is evaluated

Photos or scans of handwritten math work are processed to read every step of the working, beyond the final answer. Evaluation results are stored so progress, mastery and effort can be shown clearly to you and to your child.

Handwritten work is used to evaluate and to teach. It is treated as your child's learning record.

Children's privacy

Skoobon is designed for families with school-age children, so children's data receives the highest level of care. A parent or guardian creates the account, stays in control of it, and can request access, correction or deletion of their child's data at any time.

Children's personal information is never sold or shared for advertising.

Parents stay in control

Parents approve every expert tutor booking a child requests, and the parent dashboard shows effort, mastery and results in real time. Any changes to how your child's information is used will be communicated to you first.

Data security and retention

Your family's information is protected with industry-standard safeguards while it is stored and transmitted. We keep learning records only as long as they serve your child's learning, and delete them when your account is closed or a deletion is requested.
